Abstract

This paper examines several factors that affect the success or failure of social movements in producing social change. These factors include social movement organisation, mobilisation of resources, and protest ideology and tactics. Public opinion has an important mediating role in determining the success or failure of social movements. Reference is made to research on minority influence in social groups and to the kinds of tactics used and claims made by minorities to win resources and exert influence. Evidence is reviewed relating to the effectiveness of demonstrations in achieving changes in government policy and to the effectiveness of militant protest compared with peaceful demonstrations in producing change. Evidence is drawn from research on the impact of the peace movement, specific antiwar movements, and the antinuclear movement.

D. The Triple Alliance and Triple Entente formed.

Answers

The situation that had a global impact after the end of World War I is a deadly virus that killed millions of people. The correct option is A.

What is a virus?

In contrast to a creature, a virus cannot multiply on its own outside a living cell. While viruses must “kidnap” other cells and settle there in order to produce "offspring,” organisms can reproduce on their own.

Influenza was a disease that killed millions of people after World War I. It impacted the whole world and had a global impact.

Therefore, the correct option is A. A deadly virus killed millions of people.

please someoneee helppp ill give brainliest just pleaseee Which of the following statistics would best support the claim that U.S. schools are becoming more segregated?

9% of African-American students have enrolled in an AP class.
88% of America's wealth is held by white Americans.
74% of African-American students attend segregated schools.
14% of the U.S. population is African-American.

Answers

Answer:

C) 74% of African-American students attend segregated school.

Well over six decades after the Supreme Court declared “separate but equal” schools to be unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education, schools remain heavily segregated by race and ethnicity.

What are the consequences of this lack of progress in integrating schools for black children?

It depresses education outcomes for black students; as shown in this report, it lowers their standardized test scores.

It widens performance gaps between white and black students.

It reflects and bolsters segregation by economic status, with black students being more likely than white students to attend high-poverty schools.

It means that the promise of integration and equal opportunities for all black students remains an ideal rather than a reality.

In contrast, when black students have the opportunity  to attend schools with lower concentrations of poverty and larger shares of white students they perform better, on average, on standardized tests.

Black children are still relegated to separate and unequal schools

Findings on school segregation and student performance come from the National Center for Education Statistics’ National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), the most comprehensive study of education performance in the country. We use the most recently released data to describe school segregation and its consequences for math performance of eighth-graders. These data show that only about one in eight white students (12.9%) attends a school where a majority of students are black, Hispanic, Asian, or American Indian. (We refer to this group collectively as students of color hereafter.) In contrast, nearly seven in 10 black children (69.2%) attend such schools (see Figure A).

As shown in Figure B, black students are also in economically segregated schools. Less than one in three white students (31.3%) attend a high-poverty school, compared with more than seven in 10 black students (72.4%).

Established by Article I of the Constitution, the Legislative Branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress. The Constitution grants Congress the sole authority to enact legislation and declare war, the right to confirm or reject many Presidential appointments, and substantial investigative powers.

The Framers viewed Congress as the most powerful branch of government. The presidency was designed as "an effectual check" upon the legislature. Yet, the 20th century saw a shift of that institutional balance with increasing executive power and prominence in American politics and governance. How has the presidency changed from the 19th Century going forward? What factors have led to the development and expansion of presidential power in the "modern presidency"? (Hint: in the PowerPoint). What would you tell former Pres. Trump, who says, he can do whatever he wants due to Article iI in the Constitution?

Presidential power has increased with the passage of time because of America's growth as a nation and its emergence as a powerful country and its role in international politics. The various acts of legislation, America's growth and emergence as a powerful country provides new authority and power to the president of the United States of America. Former President Trump is wrong by saying that he can do whatever he wants due to Article II in the Constitution because President is also subject to the law of the country. He also says true that according to Article Two, the president serves as the commander-in-chief of the military and has ultimate powers.
