5a) According to document 5a how did the colonies apply the ideas of John Locke?
Answer:
In his Second Treatise of Government, Locke identified the basis of a legitimate government. According to Locke, a ruler gains authority through the consent of the governed. The duty of that government is to protect the natural rights of the people, which Locke believed to include life, liberty, and property.
Explanation:
They were considering document 5A. The colonists applied the ideas of John Locke by "electing representatives to pass the laws and levied taxes."
This is because the ideas of John Locke stated that every human being has natural rights and the rights to life, liberty, and property.
Thus, as the colonies were able to elect representatives that passed laws and levied taxes, they are exercising the ideas of the right to liberty which means freedom to govern themselves.
Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the Colonists applied the ideas of John Locke by electing representatives to pass the laws and levied taxes.

Explain whether the decision of slave states to secede helped to preserve slavery, or did secession of the South (ironically) accelerate the ending of slavery after December of 1860?
Answer:
The decision of slave states to secede helped to preserve slavery
Explanation:
In 1860, eleven Southern States succeeded from the Union. The reasons for this was the involvement of the North in the issue of slavery. The South economy was based o agriculture and they needed slaves to work in their fields. The slaves were the backbone of the South economy. Many of the Southern wanted to gain the upper hand on the issue of slavery because slaves were their chief source of economy. Analyze the document "King Andrew the First (c. 1833)" by explaining its "HIPP" (historical context, intended audience, author's
purpose, and author's point of view). Refer to elements in the image to explain your response.
Incomplete question. The attached image completes the question.
Explanation:
From the image, we observe it is actually a cartoon from the year 1833 depicting Andrew Jackson who served as the seventh president of the United States. Because he was seen as a president wanting to be a dictator, the cartoon portrays him in a negative light.
For example, the author (or cartoonist) puts on Jackson's hand a scroll titled "VETO", representing his decision to veto Congress's bill to recharter the banks in 1832.
Also to showcase what the author sees as Jackson's disregard for the "Constitution of the United States of America" and the Internal Improvements U.S. Bank" they were positioned under his foot.
Finally, we can also see a book thrown on the ground with the titled "Judiciary of the U.States" indicating his lack of interest to consult or respect the judiciary of the United States.
Answer:
Andrew Jackson was a strong president. He used the office to forcefully pursue his agenda. This cartoon is quite famous, coming out around 1833, because of the 1833 removal order. In the cartoon, the president can be seen holding a veto in his hand, and standing on top of the Constitution. He is dressed up as a king, holding - perhaps - too much power. I believe that the intended audience was the people. The people saw him as a king, abusing his powers as a president. The author’s purpose was to show how people truly viewed him. The president’s order to remove federal deposits from the Bank of the United States led to an increase in state debt. The President was strongly criticized because he acted without congressional approval, as a king would.

21.1 Industrial Revolution notes
This is some rough notes i took on the industrial revolution a few years back. Hope it helps.
The industrial revolution was the change of how things were going to be made and how they were going to be sold, or the change of human labor to machine labor.
The industrial revolution started after 1750 and started in England. Other places would industrialise in the mid 1800s. England had 6 reasons to be ahead of everyone else in industrialization. The had more money than anyone else, colonies, Raw Materials, Workers, Trade Markets, and geography. More than half of England's citizens were unemployed so there were plenty of workers for factories.
New sources of energy like steam, oil (gas and Kerosene),water, and Electricity.
Later advances would reveal atomic, wind, and solar energy.
Increased usage of aluminum, copper, iron, and steel.
Coal became the most important mineral.
Textiles were the first to industrialise and many agricultural improvements were made.
Better Ships, Trains, and automobiles were made that improved transportation.
New means of communication were made like the (telegraph). .../ / /…= SOS
Telephones and radios were also made that improved communication.
Mass production starts and it makes more stuff faster than normal home businesses.
Urbanisation was people leaving rural, farming places into cities.
Capitalism is a free market economy.
Factory system replaced the domestic system.
Urbanization
The Industrial Revolution brought factories that made many new jobs for citizens. Most farmers were subsistence farmers and could only make enough food for themselves and could not make money. New jobes used wages to pay workers that played them every week or every other week and that was much better. The factory jobs required them to work for a smaller amount of time every day. They can now buy food instead of making it. The pay was low and they also had to pay for food and rent in apartments that the factory owners owned. Working conditions were poor and it was much hotter inside than outside.
The factories could hire women to work and pay them less than a man, women didn’t have many jobs. Work regulations were put into factories and they had to have windows and women had to tie their hair back. Some factories hired children and they could be used to fix things and had to stick their hands in dangerous machines without them being turned off. They also sent children into coal mines because they were smaller. The apartments were small and there could be 4-5 families in a room. Many advancements in agriculture rise. Many Labor problems started and the idea of socialism was started by a man named Karl Marx.Socialism was supposed to be for the worker class. Socialism makes all businesses owned by the government but Karl Marx believed in Communism which had no social classes. In communism everyone is paid the same no matter what they do. The government gives you all of your stuff in communism including your home.
HELP ME !!!!! WRITE A PARAGRAPH! Odysseus should/should not be prosecuted for the
crime of murder ?
Answer:
Odysseus wanted revenge in his own household. The suiters inside his home showed no respect to Penelope nor the servants. While Odysseus was disguised, he was able to unravel the true attitudes of those serving him. The only argument to this is that Odysseus was already thought to be dead and the suitors were mostly hoping to take over that ruling. Should he be prosecuted? I believe that Odysseus was just trying to take over his household again. Since most in his household were disrespectful to his commands that they all leave, he had no choice but to justifiably kill those in his household with reason.
