Answer:
Douglass did not write this text to reflect on his personal development but rather to argue that slavery should be abolished. In the Narrative, he explicitly and implicitly responds to the positions of people who supported or were indifferent to slavery. Through the episodes he tells, Douglass conveys his position that slavery was terrible (not just mildly unpleasant) for slaves, that it corrupted (not helped) slave owners, and that as an institution, it was abhorrent (not necessary). It is worth noting that this last position is the hardest to trace and analyze.

mention four reasons why it is important to apply for entry at tertiary institutions while you are still at grade 10
Answer: Generally, ‘course preferences’ refer to tertiary applications that are submitted through TAC websites for entry into higher education courses. Submitting preferences allows students to apply for several courses at once, without having to submit separate applications to individual institutions. Because you need to do work so that your family can survive and can leave peacefully and happily. that's why it is important to apply for entry. What you should do. Based on your entry scores and the requirements of the institution choose a course for which you qualify. If you enrol at a private institution, check if it is registered with the Department of Education. Apply for admission directly to the institution of your choice. Complete the institution’s prescribed application form.

Which of the following is the BEST definition of flash forward?
Select one:
The literary and artistic technique of relating the events of a narrative out of
chronological order
The literary technique in which the chronological sequence of events is
interrupted by the interjection of a future event.
The literary technique of including hints or clues to indicate events that will
occur later in a narrative chronological sequence
Answer: The literary technique in which the chronological sequence of events is interrupted by the interjection of a future event.
Explanation:
In a flash forward, the author would be writing about events in the chronological order in which they occurred but then this would be interjected by an event that is to happen in future.
For example, a author would be writing about kids playing in a playground and the main character looking on when all of a sudden the scene changes to the same playground in future looking desolate and nearly destroyed as a result of nuclear war then the scene reverts back to the present with children playing. The nuclear desolation was a flash forward.

Have you ever heard of the saying; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? This saying means trying to stop something from happening is easier and better than having to try to resolve it later. I learned the hard way that taking care of your injuries is important when I was in Fifth grade.
I had hurt my foot and ankle in fifth grade, but I did not tell anyone for a while. Once I did my mom made an appointment with the doctor and set it specifically, so I would not have to participate in gym class. I of course did not listen to her and participated in gym anyways to run a mile. I ended up being on non- weight bearing crutches for six and a half months since I did not try to prevent a bigger injury, and instead I had to resolve it later.
Many people, whether it is with injuries, sicknesses, or just small things, do not take the time to take care of themselves, and end up worsening it later. I did just that, but I learned from that to try to pay attention to my injuries and not leave it for later. If I had taken my injury seriously and not participated in gym class, then my injury would not be as severe. The saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is like a vaccine, if you take it you still might get sick but just not as bad. Next time, I will pay attention to my injuries. Next time, I will be more cautious. Next time, I will not get as hurt.
Taking care of yourself and trying to stop something from happening instead of leaving it to be resolved later is important. Knowing the saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, is a great way to remember to do that. I know firsthand from hurting my foot in fifth grade that it is important to take injuries seriously to make sure it does not become more severe.
Answer:
Maybe adding more details to your story? Or talk more about the phrase itself.
Explanation:
Adding more details based on how you felt, and longing the consequences could be beneficial here. Besides that, possibly adding another story? If you don't have one, then think about a famous story that deepens within your paper. Also, maybe make another paragraph or two to talk about the meaning of the phrase. That's my biggest idea for you, good luck! (sorry if this wasn't very helpful, I'm a seventh grader.)
(here's an example, this is just how I pictured it. feel free to use it:D)
"The phrase itself is very important; when used, it is most likely in the persons best interest that the other person in the conversation stays safe. For example, you would want your friend to stay safe if they were participating in dangerous activities without proper equipment. Risks aren't always the best solution, and that is what the phrase is creating awareness for."

Answer:
One of the things I tend to think about is just how important social interaction is. In the current pandemic we live in, we are forced to stay at home and practically isolate ourselves from reality. We listen to the news and depend on politics to tell us what to do next. We don't go out, communicate, socialize, or even have fun anymore. That is extremely unhealthy. It has been proven that the more healthy relationships you have, the longer you live. So why depend on politics during this time? Why not go out and communicate and socialize? Cultural beliefs? Why don't we stay safe but also surround ourselves with our loved ones at the same time? One of the most important things to take into consideration during a pandemic like this is it's not going away anytime soon, but we have to learn how to deal with it, how to pick ourselves back up, and go back to how we used to be.
