Answer: She thought of the flour in her kitchen at home--half sifted, half not sifted. She had been interrupted, and had left things half done. What had interrupted Minnie Foster? Why had that work been left half done?

Her eye was caught by a dish-towel in the middle of the kitchen table. Slowly she moved toward the table. One half of it was wiped clean, the other half messy. Her eyes made a slow, almost unwilling turn to the bucket of sugar and the half empty bag beside it. Things begun--and not finished.

Minnie wasn't worried about the things that she should have been worried about.

"Well, I don't think she did," affirmed Mrs. Hale stoutly.

Answers

Answer:

Simple machines are all around us.

Our lives would not be the same without these machines.

Each  window blind is operated by a pulley that closes and opens it.

A simple doorknob is a wheel and axle that allows us to open and close doors.

A rolling pin is another wheel and axle used to help prepare the dough for baking the crust of your favourite plantain tart.

Explanation:

I have written the complete subjects in bold letters and underlined the simple subjects.

The subject is what the sentence is about. It tells us who or what performs the action expressed by the verb, or who or what is being described by the predicate.

The simple subject is the main word of the complete subject, usually a noun.

A complete subject is a group of words that contains the simple subject and words that modify (describe) it.

For example, Simple machines are all around us. The complete subject is simple machines. It is described by the predicate - are all around us. The main word of the subject is machines, which makes it the simple subject. We could say Machines are all around us, and the sentence wouldn't change too significantly. Simple is an adjective that modifies that noun machines, which is why it's also a part of the complete subject.

Read the passage about the life of Cesar Chavez.

Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927, near Yuma, Arizona. Chavez is best known for his use of nonviolent means to draw attention to the poor working conditions of farm workers in the United States. He also formed the National Farm Workers Association in 1962. In 1972, the National Farm Workers Association merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to become the United Farm Workers. Chavez led marches, boycotts, and hunger strikes. It is believed that these hunger strikes may have contributed to his death on April 23, 1993.

Chavez dedicated his life to improving the lives of farm workers, a life with which he was very familiar. Until he was ten, his parents had owned a farm. They lost this farm during the Great Depression, and he and his family became migrant farm workers. Chavez had to work even harder after his father was injured in an automobile accident. He knew all too well about the poor pay and terrible working conditions withstood by farm workers. Chavez used nonviolent means to fight for the improved treatment, pay, and working conditions of farm workers. He was instrumental in organizing one such famous strike against the California grape growers in 1965, a battle that lasted for years. At one point, Chavez even called for a national boycott against the grape growers. His efforts over the years resulted in several victories for farm workers. After his death, Chavez was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

A yearbook page for Cesar Chavez states "Remember when . . . you fought for better working conditions for farm workers?" What image would best illustrate this?

an image of Cesar Chavez farming with his family
an image of Cesar Chavez leading a peaceful march
an image of Cesar Chavez working on a farm as a boy
an image of Cesar Chavez eating with farm workers

Answers

Answer:

An image of Cesar Chavez leading a peaceful march

Explanation:

Any of the other answers don't make sense; him with an image with his family has nothing to do with fighting for better working conditions. Him working on a farm just shows that he farmed, not helped. An image with him and farmers would just show that he was friends with some farm workers.

What would you choose small family or big family and why?

Answers

For me, I would choose a small family because it would be easier to get to know each other. The children would have more attention from their parents. A small family has less cost than big family since there are less mouths to feed. Therefore, i would choose small family :)

The judge said to the lawyer, “Will you be able to complete your arguments tomorrow?” Convert it into indirect speech.

Answers

Answer:

The judge asked the lawyer if he would be able to complete his arguments tomorrow.

Explanation:

An indirect speech is also known as "reported speech." This type of speech doesn't quote what was stated in the sentence; rather it tries to report.

The example sentence above is a "direct speech" which is supposed to be turned into a reported speech, which should include an indirect question (Will you be able to complete your arguments tomorrow?) In order to do this, "will" should be replaced with "would." The change in tenses largely depends on the mood. In this case, it is already stating something that happened in the past.

girls

Girls deal with any more struggling when it comes to socializing. We have to make sure to sit up straight, act lady like, and our brains are much different from guys. guys have a very basic mind set. most boys play some sports, dress a certain way, focus on school and friends, and that's about it. Girls have it a lot harder. we have to focus on our body language, how we talk, how we dress, and how we act in general Not many girls van relate about the same things like, aesthetic, music, sports, school, and a lot more. This is not because of anxiety or ADD, but because our brains are just set up different from guys. Si I think that girls have it a lot harder than guys in this scenario.

Answer:

Girls

Explanation:

I think girls face more pressure than girls. I think girls have more pressure than girls because of peer pressure. Also, studies tell us that, compared to boys, girls feel more pressure and endure more of the physical symptoms of psychological strain. Girls are also more likely to experience the emotions often associated with anxiety. In society, girls deal with any more struggling when it comes to socializing. What causes a lot of pressure for girls is that they are mostly not themselves because they have to act differently, so they don't get judged by others since others are more judgemental on girls than boys.

Answers

Answer:

B. Audio-lingual method

False

Explanation:

The audio-lingual method is a method of teaching foreign languages based on the behaviorist theory, according to which new behaviors can be taught through positive reinforcement. As errors form bad habits, they are immediately corrected by the teacher, while correct responses are immediately positively reinforced.

The grammar-translation method is a method of teaching foreign languages based on the classical method of teaching Greek and Latin, where students learn grammatical rules and then apply them by translating sentences between the language they are learning and their native language. Classes taught by this method are taught in their native language, which means that the teacher doesn't have to be a native speaker of the target language. They should be a native speaker of the students' native language and possess the knowledge of the target language.

In the past, scientists have tried to copy human brains exactly. The trouble is, there is still so much that scientists do not know about how human brains work. But a group of scientists at Michigan State University have developed a new plan. They are using nature as an example to follow for robots. We know that things change and adapt in nature. These scientists want to make robots that can change and adapt, too. The robots would learn to do tasks over time. The goal is to have robots with brains that develop like human brains do, over many years. One task this team of scientists worked on was to get robots to enter and exit a room. This action is easy for humans to complete, but not for robots. The scientists used a math equation to program the robots on this task. They created a program where the robots had to work on the task in connection with other robots. The robots watched each other and took on special roles for the task. This made them more successful. Then, the robot brains that worked the best on a task were the models used for future brains. This is very much like what happens in nature. A characteristic that works well for an animal gets passed on to its babies.Overall, this group of scientists thinks that following what happens in nature is the key to creating robots that can think like humans. The robot brains will start young, like humans. Robots will learn and explore for many years. Then they will develop higher intelligence and understanding. As a result, farmers had damaged fields that could no longer cultivate crops. The fields broke down from planting the same thing year after year. Then, in 1914, a pest called a boll weevil destroyed crops. The solution to this problem came from George Washington Carver, an African-American scientist and inventor. He discovered that the soil in Alabama grew peanuts and sweet potatoes well. Carver suggested that farmers grow peanuts and sweet potatoes to help the soil. This plan worked. Farms began producing peanuts and sweet potatoes. However, not many people bought these foods. Farmers struggled to earn a living. Carver responded to this situation with more research. He wanted farmers to keep planting these crops. He experimented and made products from peanuts and sweet potatoes. Carver made 300 other things from peanuts, such as flour, milk, ink, and dye. He made about 100 products from sweet potatoes, including glue and ink. By 1940, peanuts became the second leading crop to make money in the South. Carver changed how cotton was grown and made many other crops important to the South.
