Answer:
Anzia Yezierska was an American-Jewish writer. She wrote many novels and books. She was born in Poland but later migrated to the U.S.A.
Explanation:
The author tries to ridicule or deride the Americanized people who believed that they are the original American people and wanted to leave behind the heritage as well as history of theirs. Thus the author uses the word "American" with a quotation mark.
Anzia Yezierska speaks of her moving to America in search of a better living and to pursue her dreams. She remembers she lives with and works for a family in America who have also migrated from the same Polish village from where she comes from. This family behaves in a manner that they belong to America and forgot from where they came from. They pretended to be truly American or "American" as quoted by Anzia Yezierska.

She came here in search of happiness and to live a better life but she encountered loneliness, shame, inadequacy, misunderstanding, etc. The feelings of the author changes from the childish exhilaration towards the sad acceptance and the ultimate hatred.

My third gift was a photograph of the El Paso/Juárez border: the Chihuahua Desert, the Rio Grande, a stern mountain, two sprawling border cities. Like our families, our geography is part of who we are. When I was growing up on the U.S. side of that border, the society around me tried in subtle and not-so-subtle ways to convince me that my Mexican heritage was inferior to that of Anglo-Americans. I hope that today’s educators on the border and throughout this nation are now committed to multiculturalism, to motivating the next generation to draw on their heritage as a resource for learning. The U.S. has been described as the first international country: Our varied cultures are our common wealth. Borders—and if we’re attentive, we realize we all live on borders, whether they are national or not—are sites of tension and sites for learning. Borders invite us to confront differences, inequities and stereotypes. They invite us to work for multicultural cooperation and to celebrate multilingual richness. –“The Leader in the Mirror,” Pat Mora What symbol does Mora introduce in this passage? The Ride of His Life
When Jesse Senko was 12 years old, he had an experience that literally changed his life. Senko was snorkeling while on vacation in the Cayman Islands with his family when a large sea turtle swam near him. Senko naturally did what any 12-year-old boy would do and decided to grab the turtle and go for a ride. That turtle ride, in some ways, has never ended. People find their passions in many different ways. Senko found his passion while riding on the back of a turtle when he was just 12 years old.
Today, Senko is a conservation scientist at Arizona State University. He focuses his research and life’s work on marine resource sustainability. Can you guess what that includes? If you guessed sea turtles, you would be correct. In college, Senko majored in fisheries and wildlife science, and he also received a Master of Science degree in wildlife ecology. Much of the focus of his work is on saving endangered sea turtles.
Sea turtles help keep the ocean healthy, and thus their well-being affects the entire ecosystem. They provide a natural regulatory system for the environment. For example, sea turtles eat seagrass, which helps it grow properly, and their unhatched eggs provide nutrients for plant life to keep beaches healthy. Sea turtles also provide a home for small animals that attach to their shells.
Sea turtles are endangered because fishermen inadvertently catch them in their nets, which can cause the turtles irreparable harm. Senko came up with the idea to create solar-powered fishing nets so fishermen can readily see when they accidentally catch a sea turtle. Because the lights are solar powered, the fishermen do not have to maintain the lights or change the batteries. This technology has resulted in a 65 percent reduction in sea turtle catches thus far. Senko’s goal is a 100 percent reduction.
In "The Ride of His Life," what viewpoint is the author trying to communicate about Senko?
Senko always knew his career would involve the ocean.
Senko has a passion for working with sea turtles.
Senko is an avid fisherman who wants to help save wildlife.
Senko longs to be on the cutting edge of modern technology.
