natures firefighters Seven years ago, 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots from Prescott, Ariz., died when a raging wildfire caused by dry lightning overwhelmed them.

Their tragic deaths created more awareness of the dangers firefighters face in their profession. Since that time, more firefighters have lost their lives battling Mother Nature’s fury.

Many who have served in the military or fought forest or wildland fires note the similarities in training and approach. The men and women who have done both are the first to attest to the similarities. Both are dangerous jobs. I worked with hotshot crews — the infantry — and saw their hard work on the front line. The Granite Mountain hotshots on the front line then, like today’s crews, have everyone’s back for safety.

Quote of the Week: History is a vast early warning system. - Norman Cousins
What do you think this quote means write 3-4 complete sentences.

Answers

It's very similar to the phrase "History Repeats itself".

If you have someone who has betrayed you in the past, and they want to be friends again, that past history means that they aren't a good person and will most likely betray you again. Another example is if you lost contact with a good friend and they find you again, the history reminds you that they are a good person and you should trust them.

I don't think this is the most helpful but I hope it at least gives you an idea on what to write down ^^

The social structure of the South in the antebellum era are small towns, little or no organized education and slow population growth. The correct option is b, d and e.

What is social structure?

Social structure, in sociology, the distinctive, stable arrangement of institutions whereby human beings in a society interact and live together. Social structure is often treated together with the concept of social change, which deals with the forces that change the social structure and the organization of society.

Although it is generally agreed that the term social structure refers to regularities in social life, its application is inconsistent. For example, the term is sometimes wrongly applied when other concepts such as custom, tradition, role, or norm would be more accurate. Studies of social structure attempt to explain such matters as integration and trends in inequality. In the study of these phenomena, sociologists analyze organizations, social categories or rates.

This approach, sometimes called formal sociology, does not refer directly to individual behavior or interpersonal interaction.

Beer was the official drink of all Ancient Egyptians while wine was the drink of Royalties. Ancient Egyptians made their beer of barley while their wine was made out of grapes and apples. The man buried in it was “head of beer production”, archaeologists say.

What did the abolitionist movement accomplish?

Abolitionists joined the cause of the Union after the Civil War broke out in 1861. When the Emancipation Proclamation, issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, declared that slaves in many regions of the South were free, they cheered. Slavery in the United States was outlawed in 1865 thanks to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

Earlier movements to abolish slavery had not been as organized, militant, or quick as the abolitionist movement. It made its official debut in about 1830. According to historians, the Second Great Awakening's philosophical views served as an inspiration for abolitionists to fight against slavery.
